Diseases of the heart (27.2% of all patients) – Caused by bad diet, lack of exercise, smoking, and drinking
Malignant neoplasms [colon cancer] (23.1%) – Caused by bad diet, lack of exercise, smoking, and drinking
Cerebrovascular diseases [stroke] (6.3%) – Caused by bad diet, lack of exercise, smoking, and drinking
Chronic lower respiratory diseases (5.1%) – Caused by smoking
Diabetes mellitus (3.1%) – Caused by bad diet, lack of exercise, and possibly smoking
Chronic liver disease and cirrhosis (1.1%) – Caused by bad diet, lack of exercise, smoking, drinking, and STD’S
So, roughly 65% of health problems in America are almost completely preventable. I want you to imagine this next time you go to the doctor, or a hospital – imagine 65% less people than there actually is.
The real health crisis is people not taking responsibility for themselves.

Jackson’s family released a statement Monday, saying it has “full confidence” in the legal process and the efforts of investigators. It concludes: “The family looks forward to the day that justice can be served.”
Oh my God, confidence in the legal system?? Justice?? Are you kidding me?
If the legal system did its job, and if there were any justice, the monstrous Joseph Jackson would be expelled from society for beating and torturing his children.
If Michael Jackson had not had a sociopath for a father, he wouldn’t have ever been in the position he was, isolated from society and loaded on drugs.
Joseph Jackson killed Michael.
How dare they talk about justice.

People who attack/insult/drive off other people for having ideas they don’t like, who then adopt those ideas wholeheartedly six months later, unquestioningly
Are.
Messed.
Up.
I am so sorry I ever took part in it.

People who use the words idiot, moron, retard and stupid, say a lot more about their own intelligence than they do about others.
Namely, that they do not have the verbal intelligence to come up with something more creative than “stupid”.
Also, they lack the emotional intelligence to realise that if someone is truly retarded and incapable of comprehension, you empathize with them, not attack them.
If someone deliberately avoids comprehension, they are not retarded, but psychologically damaged, and that too deserves empathy.

Yes, this is the actual title of a book I saw in a bookstore. I imagined the stories would be something like this…
“Alice,” Jaiye [birth name Amanda] whispered in a low, husky voice. “Not tonight. I worked for 12 hours and I smell like Taco Bell.”
I was giggling over it when I decided to go to Iku Wholefoods for a burger. KD Lang was playing on the radio when I walked in. I was served by a girl with dreadlocks and a nose piercing who I just knew owned every Ani Difranco album ever made.
Lesbian overload.
I was going to get a vegan cookbook at the bookstore before I remembered I can just look up recipes on the internet for free… Instead I got this book called ‘introducing ethics, a graphic guide’, its cute, has a chicken on the front and talks about philosophy in a comic book format.
So, yeah.

From Wiki:
Whole Foods was the first grocery chain to set standards for humane animal treatment.[2] He was helped in this by the influence of an animal rights activist, Lauren Ornelas, who criticized Whole Foods’ animal standards regarding ducks at a shareholder meeting in 2003. Encountering Ornelas after the meeting, Mackey gave her his email address and they corresponded on the issue. He later wanted to see why she and other animal activists were so concerned with the issue of factory farming and read a dozen books on the subject before deciding to switch to what he considers veganism and fight for tougher animal standards.[5]
According to the BBC, John Mackey wrote a letter in 2006 to all of his staff announcing that he would reduce his own salary to $1 a year, donate his stock portfolio to charity and set up a $100,000 emergency fund for staff facing personal problems.[8] He wrote: “I am now 53 years old and I have reached a place in my life where I no longer want to work for money, but simply for the joy of the work itself and to better answer the call to service that I feel so clearly in my own heart.”
While CEO of Whole Foods Market in 2008, he earned a total compensation of just $33,831, which included a base salary of $1, and a cash bonus of $33,830.[9] He has instituted caps on executive pay at the company.[1]
This guy is AWESOME!!!
CEO’s that don’t care about their employees was one of the reasons I was originally a socialist. This guy is so cool.

People apparently boycotting Whole Foods because the CEO said people don’t have an intrinsic right to health care.
So they are using a free market tactic to oppose free market views.
This guy also donates $1 million a year to animal welfare… something most left-leaning people consider important… amongst other chairities. That doesn’t matter, because if he doesn’t support universal healthcare, he must WANT you to be sick!!!!
You know. If the government didn’t steal %50 of your income. Maybe you could actually afford to go to the doctor.
Want to be healthy? EAT HEALTHY….John Mackey provides you a means to do that. 90% of health problems could be prevented if people would take responsibility for themselves… oh wait. They want to live unhealthily and have other people pay for them when they get sick.
As for accidents and unpreventable diseases… that is what insurance is for.
I had no idea who this guy even was until I read this article… but after learning about his views on organic food, animal welfare AND the free market… I support him.

“There was this goth chick, and she like, started being all goth in front of me” — Veronica, in drama class today
Today in drama our assignment was to write a “fuck you” letter to all the people who had put us down in our lives and then to speak it on stage… I, of course, aimed my letter at all the people who had called me crazy for having compassion for animals… and this time, I put all my anger behind it without holding back…ahhhh… felt good…yay me.
Really glad I took drama class over therapy, at least for now… still have to find another therapist… I figure if I feel as motivated to go to therapy as I did with art and I do with drama, then I’ve found the right therapist.

Her insatiable lust for knowledge knows no boundaries; she wants to know everything i have to tell her, even the far out, unprovable theories I come up with
like the universe being conscious….
She never calls me crazy, but gently brings me back to reality if she has to
Her honesty and compassion is not forced, like people who try to convince themselves they are good, but it flows with the natural ease of someone who is truly good and knows it.
She is structured and organized, but recognises that I am not, and cannot be, without kind reminders to put my things in their proper place. I can trust her to tell me what I have to do without feeling bullied, or pressured.
She shares my reverent respect for nature and human and animal life. on the smaller things, like music and art interests, we diverge – but she loves what i love because i love it…
she helps me turn my flights of fancy into reality…she knows when i need to be pushed and when i need space to grow by myself.
We join together, not through lack of boundaries, but firmly established ones. Like a puzzle, with its seperate and unique little pieces forming one greater picture.
